::Meet the Teachers::


Name: Mark Payne

Mark is an experienced communicator and teacher of technical subjects. Mark's recent work includes installed sound designs at HTB Brompton Road and SPOS, The Dominion Centre Wood Green, HOP Camberwell and Jesus House Brent Cross. Marks live event sound designs have been seen at The Royal Albert Hall for “Cinderella on Ice” and “The Matrix Live”. His sound design and implementation for “Festival of Life” at London’s Excel continues to hold the world record for the largest number of d&b Q series boxes used in a single indoor space for 45000 people.


Mark’s historical credits include being FOH tour sound engineer for Howard Jones and chief sound engineer and designer at the Big Chill Festivals.


Mark has worked in literally thousands of venues across the UK and Europe an equal number of artists, bands, orchestras and soloists.


Name: Tim Horton

Tim joined the SFL Team in September 2008. After completing his degree in Music, Worship and Theology. Tim then went on to work for a church in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire where he utilised his skills as a sound engineer and musician. Tim’s spare time is put to good use in his local church, as well as spending slightly too much effort on enlarging his collection of all things guitar. Spicy food, strong coffee and satisfying a sweet tooth are often a regular feature of Tim’s day.


Tim leads our specialist church focused courses and is an expert in Roland digital products and systems integration.


Name: Craig Lawrence

Craig has over 6 years experience in the Live video arena, he joined SFL in 2004 through the acquisition of 6th Sense Solutions. His easy going nature and good sense of humour coupled with his enormous knowledge of all things video make him and ideal teacher.
