SFL provide a full HD camera solution for the SAS sales kick off meeting

After a long standing relationship with SAS Inc and SAS UK, SFL were pleased to be asked to provide the complete technical solution for their UK Sales Kick Off event.

SFL provided the set, stage, sound, video and lighting elements with designs being drawn up by GPJ. The conference took place in the Sofitel hotel at Heathrow T5.

The set utilised the width of the conference room and incorporated 3 large projection screens. Thin strips of LED panels were also used to change the look and feel of the set, the LED crossed the video-lighting barriers and the LED video walls became a lighting tool. The LED was driven from a Hippo media server.

The conference was shot using Sony HXC-100 HD cameras and was mixed on SFL’s HD PPU. PowerPoint, VT’s and cameras were all mixed to screen using Barco Screen Pro II processing. The centre screen was used for the live camera feed and the 2 outside 16’ screens were used for graphics. Due to the complexity of the SAS graphics that needed to be shown SFL had to ensure crisp images on the screen. They utilised several Barco projectors to achieve this.

The sound solution was a d&b front of house PA using Q1, Q10 & E3. All the audio inputs speaker microphones were mixed on a Yamaha M7. SFL didn’t want to risk RF drop out or radio mic failure issues so all the presenters were double mic’d.

Lighting consisted of chroma banks and colour punch to light the stage and set evenly with a vivid punch of colour. There were also several Robe Robin moving lights, Source 4 profiles and fresnels. The lighting was all plotted and operated using a Jands Vista lighting desk.
