SAS Forum 2007

SFL Provides SAS with a Complete Production Solution for their Annual UK Forum sasforum07emini

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

SAS is a leader in business intelligence and predictive analytics software. They hold their UK Forum on an annual basis in order to meet colleagues and others in their industry. SFL were asked to put together the complete production solution for the SAS UK Forum at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. SFL even put together an impressive reception area for delegates to register and signage for all around the hotel.

The forum consisted of many areas. There were several smaller seminar rooms where SFL put in a small set, a screen, a lectern and a PA system for the presenter. The certification room was used for exams where there were 30 desktop workstations with 17' TFT monitors. All workstations and printers were networked in to the SAS servers.

The main conference area was set up with tiered arena style seating and was fully draped to benefit the acoustics. Congo Blue worked with us to put together the unique and prominent set in the main conference room. This was made from polycarbonate which looked stunning when lit up. Two 16' x 9' screens were mounted within this with revolving 3D SAS lettering in the centre. It certainly was bespoke. Four Barco CLMR10+ 10,000 lumen projectors were used to create a soft edge blend on both screens. The stage was shaped to go with the set with a custom built lectern at the centre. A state of the art '3 touch' system was used by the presenters to control their presentations.

The knowledge zone was used as a base for the conference. This is where the delegates had refreshments and were able to relax around the SAS branded poser tables. This area also boasted the bold exhibition stand built by Congo Blue that was used for the breakout rooms to exhibit on. The breakout rooms were draped off areas within the knowledge zone and were used for seminars. The knowledge zone was also used for the partner sponsors to exhibit in and it held the extravagant customer services stand. We made this to be exciting with our 6 lane scalextric track and top of the range Top Gear Leaders Board to find out who was the fastest. Prizes were available to the winners.

The first night of the conference, the delegates were treated to an elaborate Halloween Party. As they arrived, the guests were ushered through the haunted labyrinth and eerie graveyard. They were then greeted by our very own corpse bride and a party bag full of glowsticks and dressing up items. They had their pick of what to do next whether it was the themed cocktail bar, the oxygen bar, apple bobbing or trying their hand at the pumpkin shy. The ice sculpture looked stunning when lit up and the moving lights with Halloween gobos really brought the room to life. Two 8' x 6' screens were hung against the drape showing Halloween visuals. The DJ with the help of some creepy hosts really helped the guests dance the night away.
