Maidenhead United Install

SFL Score with Maidenhead United Football Club's new Sound System mhdunited1mini

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Maidenhead United Football Club of the Blue Square South League boasts a proud heritage dating back to 1870. Its ground at York road Maidenhead has a well equipped stadium and some passionate fans - there was one detail that wasn't quite right. The sound system within the stadium had seen better days and no longer worked. The system was a simple horn arrangement which was once used for music, announcements and telling the fans the scores. Maidenhead FC approached SFL to provide them with a completely new sound system.

SFL swapped the old point source horn system for a dispersed system. 23 small phonic loud speakers were spread around the stadium to allow for even coverage. Versatap30 4' 2 way speakers with in built 100 volt line transformers were chosen as they were small but gave the desired sound.

SFL made good use of an amp that Maidenhead United had recently purchased by integrating it into the new system. A Shure handheld radio microphone was provided to allow the announcer to be anywhere in the stadium.
