Kia Cee'd Launch

SFL help Kia launch their new Cee'd in spectacular fashion

The car manufacturer Kia is in an exciting position with an increasing number of car models hitting the road each year. Recently Kia opened a new factory in Slovakia from where their new car the Cee'd is being made. Kia wanted to launch this new car in the UK with style and panache and so approached production company 4D to help, in turn our friends at 4D asked SFL to provide the Sound, Lighting and Video solution for the complex launch at the ICC in Birmingham.

The stage was a multi level construction with 5 cars on different levels. The centre car sat on a 5 metre counter revolve which was itself sat on top of an independent 10 metre revolve for the big reveal. SFL used plenty of dry ice to add to the atmosphere of the big moment.

A 24' screen was used as the focal point of the set and two 12,000 lumen Barco CLM projectors produced a high impact image on screen. An analogue way Diventix was used to seamlessly scale all required inputs: live video footage, PowerPoint and VT playback on demand. The ICC venue has a newly installed in house d&b sound system which SFL were happy to use.

The lighting solution was a key component in creating the right ambience for the unveiling of the car and for the presentations. SFL supplemented the ICC's in house lights with 20 moving heads, city colours and several strips of pixelline. The effect was staggering and Kia launched their car with great flair.
