SFL provide visuals for the annual 'Prom on The Close' classical concert.

SFL provided visuals for the annual 'Prom on The Close' classical concert. The organisers chose a perfect day for the event as the warm July sunshine complimented the outdoor setting in the atmospheric Clifton College, Bristol. Lesley Garrett was the main star of this year's prom. She captivated the audience with her renditions of operatic favourites and was accompanied by the internationally renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The event attracted over 7000 visitors so there was need for visual reinforcement. SFL installed a 40m² outdoor led screen which was hung from a goal post truss structure. This initially displayed the evening's advertising and sponsor acknowledgements, but was later utilised to provide an exciting live video relay of the concert.

A 3 camera shoot on broadcast quality Sony D35 cameras created an impressive display of the classical phenomena. These were expertly positioned at the front of the house, within the orchestral pit and on the stage itself. All the feeds ran back to the OB truck where they were sympathetically directed and mixed by Mike Simpson. The screens were well placed to capture the dynamism of the event for all to enjoy.
