SFL were once again asked to provide the complete sound solution at this summer's 'Concert in the Park'

SFL were once again asked to provide the complete sound solution at this summer's 'Concert in the Park' - an annual classical extravaganza hosted by the Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill and held in Southend's Priory Park. Spanning two days, crowds were treated to recitals from renowned musicians including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Jools Holland with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

Building on the success of last year's weekend, SFL were able to dramatically improve the overall sound quality and coverage for the whole green. With its awkward shape, Priory Park provided plenty of challenges for our engineers. However, our expertly designed and managed sound system both enhanced the weekend's musical feast whilst ensuring that there was no visual obstruction for any of the patrons.

The solution compromised of d&b's Q1, with a total of 12 boxes a side combined with Q-subs and B2 subs to provide the bass. SFL flew the line array system from 11m high points to provide appropriate coverage. The points were created using a unique Tee-pee structure made from lightweight triangular truss. This arrangement was ideal for the location as it was quick to construct on site without the need for additional lifting equipment
