6th Sense has worked with Seat cars for the past 2 years, working on jobs like the new Seat Altea and their stand at the motor show. 6th Sense seemed the obvious choice when they needed a production company to launch the new Seat Leon.

The brief was to provide the lighting and sound for the reveal and to provide a Kabuki drop to hide the cars and the stage set. Tom Jeffery was tasked to produce an even coverage at a high volume sound all around the room for the 30 or so tables. He achieved this using d&b C6 which were flown in front of the stage in clusters of 2 to achieve the wide coverage. There were also some d&b E3's to boost the top end near the back of the room. The real punch for the reveal came from some d&b C7 subs.

There was a 14m wide stage set plus the width of the 2 angled cars which went either side of the set so we had to put in an 18m truss. This was needed so we could light the cars evenly and also so the Kabuki drop could hide the cars. The lighting consisted of 24k of pars for the band, 8 fresnels for the cars, 8k of floor cans, 4 Source Four Profiles, 6 MAC 250's, 4 MAC 300's and 240 75w birdies for the backdrop which needed to be lit in red. There were some custom gobos shone onto the Kabuki drop gauze as people came in to prevent them seeing through it. Another special was the 2 sets of traffic lights used for the reveal. This was all controlled by a Pearl 2000 and there was a DF50 providing the haze.

With the lighting for the reveal we were asked to provide some mysteries before the cars were revealed. The overall effect was very impressive it started off slow showing just slight glimpses of the cars and built up to the drop with a burst of high energy lighting for about 20 seconds.
